I decided many years ago to start questioning my religious beliefs. This led me to Judaism. While in college I recall asking my Humanities Prof if Jesus was Jewish....why weren't we all? 20 years later I am on the path to being a Jew. If you ask me what religion I am, I will tell you that I am a Jew...officially I am not, but I am in the process of rectifying that.
Now...to the holidays at our home.
My family is a mixture of many people with many differing beliefs. One thing we all agree on is the fact that we are all family, we love to eat, give/get gifts, and get together for any reason we can muster. So, bring in the winter holidays!
My home has 5 Christmas trees & 6 Menorahs (just bought number 6 last week!). My husband and I collect ornaments from every destination we visit. I realize this is so contradictory to our beliefs...sort of, but we love to travel and I love to bring home mementos. What better way to share/display them than on a tree once a year.
Here are some photos of what the Klein Home looks like on the holidays:
This is David's tree. It is in our kitchen and has taken the theme of penguins....David loves penguins.
This is the Menorah we have in the kitchen. I think this one is my favorite. Very simple.
This was the first Menorah I got. My moter-in-law gave it to me the first Hanukkah I celebrated with David and the kids.
This is my electric Menorah looking out into my dining & living rooms.
The kids each have a Menorah and tree in their rooms too. Stephie's tree is pink with Barbie & Princess ornaments. Kenny's tree is silver with cars on it. They each painted their own Menorah's last year. Here they are lighting them the first night of Hanukkah last year:
This is the tree in our living room...I love to sit next to it at night. It is so simple and pretty.
And, there you have it....the Klein Home during the holidays! I can't wait to bake cookies and fry latkes!

The holidays always feel so magical and you are helping your kids to experience the joys too. (It looks like you have become a true domestic goddess) Hope your season is filled with happiness!
Your trees and Menorahs are lovely! I think your blending traditions is a wonderful way for your family to celebrate the holidays. One of my dear friends is Jewish and she also collects pretty Christmas ornaments. I'm not sure how she displays them...I should ask her the next time we visit.
Question for you, do you believe that Jesus was the Christ, the promised Messiah? Because the Jewish people don't. By uniting yourself with their beliefs are you then denying Christ? Or is it possible to be a member of the Jewish faith AND believe in Jesus Christ? Ok, that was way more than one question, and none were asked in an atagonistic manner. I promise! I am just extrememly curious.
